Local Music. Local Food. Local Cause.
Making Memories Festival Brings Awareness and Community to LA State Historic Park
On Saturday, November 9th, the Making Memories Festival brought together families, friends, and supporters at LA State Historic Park to honor Alzheimer’s Awareness Month with an incredible lineup of music, food, and community activities. Benefiting Alzheimer’s Los Angeles and in partnership with NextFest, the festival was an uplifting event that raised awareness of Alzheimer’s and other dementias, as well as of the free resources available throughout the community to families in need.
The musical performances were the highlight of the day with headliners White Denim delivering an electric set that thrilled the crowd. The festival’s lineup also featured the soulful sounds of Jackie Mendez & The Steady 45’s, the Latin-infused rhythms of Boogaloo Assassins, and the dynamic rock energy of Circle The Earth. Between sets, renowned DJ Monalisa kept the energy high, spinning records that kept festival-goers dancing and entertained.
In addition to the music, attendees enjoyed a range of food truck offerings and explored the resource fair, where booths from community partners and local retailers fostered connections and shared information about Alzheimer’s support and services. Generous sponsors—including Zenith, Eisai, and Eli Lilly—helped make the event possible, showing their commitment to this important cause.
With Pili and Raul from LA Musica Podcast as gracious hosts, the Making Memories Festival brought the community together to learn how Alzheimer’s impacts families and highlighted the essential, free services that Alzheimer’s Los Angeles provides. Thankyou to everyone who joined us for this meaningful day; together, we are making a lasting impact on the care for people living Alzheimer’s or another dementia as well as in the lives of their caregivers.
