I had the amazing opportunity to work with Alzheimer’s LA as the writer and director of Lost Memories/Recuerdos Perdidos, a web series/telenovela about a family who learns their beloved grandmother is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I am so grateful for having met everyone at Alzheimer’s LA and collaborating with them to bring this very special project to fruition.

Alzheimer’s has affected the lives of several people I know and love. The experiences lived by my friends and family are sad and painful. As a writer and director, I depend on my clarity of language and visual composition to practice my work and my craft. As I learned about the reality of Alzheimer’s I was struck with the feelings of helplessness and confusion that our loved ones must have felt as their memories were slipping away… I hope my work on Lost Memories helps shine a light on this disease and helps those affected by it to find comfort in knowing they are not alone. The aim is for the series to invite all people to learn, to find a voice, find support, and to feel connected to a larger community.
