On May 16, 2024, the 15th annual Faith and Health Luncheon was held at the West Angeles Church of God in Christ, a beautiful church with a vibrant congregation. Alzheimer’s Los Angeles was welcomed in partnership to share our message of hope and education with the community.

Throughout the 15 years, Petra Niles has worked tirelessly with communities in Los Angeles to spread awareness of Alzheimer’s and other dementias as well as connecting people caring for someone with much needed support. This year was no different, not only did many people from the Black/African American community connect with resources, but they learned about the importance of early diagnosis, early signs of dementia, and the importance of caregiver support.

We’d like to thank all the community members who attended as well as those who helped put everything together and those who spoke during the event. Thank you so much, Dr. Lit, Dr. Abraham, and Dr. Gaines. Thank you to Pastors Blake Sr., Blake Jr., First Lady Mae Blake, and DeAundra Blake for not only opening your space to us but for supporting the continued efforts to support the local community as we fight this disease.
