     Remembering
                                                                           Connie Lee
                                                                                Keiter
Connie Lee Keiter first reached out to Alzheimer’s Los Angeles when
her husband, Bud, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and the family
was in crisis in 2008. She credited the guidance and support received
from our team of Care Counselors as the key to ensuring a unified
family front and a high quality of life for Bud in his final years.
In 2016, Connie attended our inaugural Women’s Luncheon and was
moved to initiate “Connie’s Challenge” – a $250,000 matching gift
challenge that resulted in a half million dollars in support that provided
Care Counselor assistance to over 1,000 families in need of care.
The following year, Connie was the recipient of our Visionary Women’s
Breaking Boundaries award and served on the event’s Planning
Committee for two years until she passed away at 90 years old in
2018. Since then, Alzheimer’s Los Angeles and the Visionary Women’s
planning committee have continued to honor her legacy by naming
the annual award in her honor.
