Memories in the Making

Memories in the Making (MiM) is a unique fine arts program for people with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias that offers a creative and non-verbal way of communicating and capturing precious moments through art.

MEMORIES IN THE MAKING

BENEFITS

  • stimulates the brain
  • enhances connections with families and caregivers
  • preserves distant memories or captures the “spirit of the moment”
  • opens communication about self-perceptions and the world
  • validates and focuses on what remains rather than what’s lost

Annual Exhibition
& Sale

Each year the Alzheimer’s Los Angeles hosts a gallery exhibition and sale of the amazing artwork created by MiM artists. It provides an opportunity for families to enjoy the art and raises funds for local programs and services.

We Love PDA (Public Displays of Art)!

Start a conversation about Alzheimer’s and creativity in your community by displaying artwork from the Memories in the Making program in your restaurant, cafe, or gallery. If your establishment is interested in housing a few pieces, please contact Anne Oh aoh@alzla.org, (323) 930-6271.
